Asia trip update #6

Good morning everyone.

It is 9:15pm right now for me.  Today has been a pretty fast paced day.  This morning I got up especially early to do the video broadcast into First Wednesday.  Josh gave a report to the church about what all we were doing and asked them to pray in two hours.  We then went to breakfast as usual and went to distribution.  Distribution today was VERY fast paced.  It was all we could do to keep up with the tourists who got here.  We ended up giving 880 bibles and packets today, with a total of 4270 passed out for the week, with an additional 90 English versions.

The weather today was much hotter than it was yesterday, but we stayed hydrated so we didn't have any problems.  After distribution we went to a Portuguese restaurant for lunch where we had our final debrief with the 'locals'.  After lunch some of us went back to the elementary school for a final round of talks.  It was a good time and the kids really enjoyed it, so that made it all worth it.  After we talked with some of the classes, some of the administration met with us for a little talk and to give us one of their school flags.  They were very happy that we had come and asked us to pray for them and their school.  Currently they are under construction and when it is finished they will have a chapel.  The principal asked that we pray that many of the students and people in the area would become believers because of their chapel that they will have.  We took the opportunity to pray with them on the spot and agreed to pray for them on down the road.

We then went back to the hotel to drop some stuff and headed back out to do some shopping, but I ended up cutting that part short as my legs were very tired of walking and standing.  A bit later we went back out to have our picture taken with the olympic torch, which is a once in a lifetime thing.  Some of the team members then went off looking for more merchandise, but Casey, Matt and I went on to dinner at Pizza Hut.  I feel sorry for the rest of the team members, they weren't able to find what they were looking for and ended up at Pizza Hut after we had already left.

Right now I'm most of the way packed up, as we will be going to Hong Kong tomorrow morning and spending the day and night.  Saturday morning for us we leave for Knoxville with a Saturday night arrival.

Please pray that we have good travel into HK and that we have a safe time in the city.

Thanks and have a great day!
